I know what it’s like to push through exhaustion, thinking success means always being “on.” As a former Executive Director at a top law firm, I spent years believing that hard work meant ignoring the warning signs — until my body and mind said enough.
Several years ago, I found myself in a bad place: exhausted, overwhelmed, completely burnt out. I was juggling a big corporate job, a small child, and the lingering aftermath of a pandemic that never seemed to end. Honestly, I’d fried my nervous system. My brain felt frantic, my body heavy. Even the things I loved didn’t spark joy anymore.
One morning, standing in the ocean being battered by waves, three words came to me: space, stillness, simplicity. That’s what I craved — and that’s what I set out to find.
It didn’t happen overnight. But bit by bit, small shifts turned into bigger changes. And slowly, I came back to myself.
